Accessibility Team of Epoka University

EPOKA University is committed to ensuring that all students with disabilities receive education in a supportive environment that values diversity, inclusion, and participation. All units will use inclusive
practices and reasonable adjustments to carry out changes in procedures or environments to remove any disabling effects or barriers to participation. The Accessibility Team under the Dean of Students Office acts as the welcome point that provides initial information and services for all students with disabilities. The Accessibility Team is responsible for the investigation and procedural fulfilments regarding any arising by closely cooperating with the respective Departments and other concerned units.

General Information on Accessibility Team

All Units promote the raising of awareness at the institutional level by providing information to the academic, assisting academic and administrative staff members on the available teaching facilities and resources that can be used for students with disabilities.

The Dean of Students Office and the Career Planning and Alumni Office ensures the collaboration with specialized staff or specialized centers through the signing of cooperation agreements.

IT Office checks the needs of students with disabilities and within the limit of available resources, identifies technological aids, both hardware and software, to be available for free use.

The Administrative and Technical Affairs Office ensures the accessibility of premises and places of study (classrooms, libraries, laboratories and other facilities) for the students with disabilities.

The Admission Office and Public Relation Office promote awareness-raising actions outside university structures with initiatives such as, study awards for the best papers on the disability problems of students, conferences on specific issues, organization of the International Day of People with disabilities, etc.

The Library Officer supports effective delivery of Library and Learning Centre services to students with disabilities. The Officer is responsible for managing daily operations within one or more areas of the library and for carrying out a variety of technical and administrative functions.

The Academic Advisor advises students concerning their academic plans and progress, academic schedule, choice of major, and other academic activities and career goals, to assist the student in making decisions concerning personal educational goals leading to graduation.

Transportation specialists manage transportation processes. They coordinate the movement of students and prepare transportation schedules. They also oversee drivers who transport students.
